"Spiking the 'Shake"
by Steven Johansen
E-Mail: vokman@ozemail.com.au

I was aiming for simple but effective with this image, it comprises of a couple of Lathed objects, the splashes were meta-nurbed.

I spent a bit longer than I intended producing it (about 8 hours) and rather cleverly managed to have a crash after tweaking quite a few texture layers without performing a save all objects!

Made with LW5 with post process blurring of the background tiles done in Picture Publisher.I wanted a depth of field effect but at a final render time of roughly 28 Hours at Low AA I didn't feel I could afford to move to Med AA, so I faked it.

"Cool Splash"

My August contest entry of King Kola making a cool water splash. Ahhh... Used mainly refreshing Fractal Reflections, icy Ripples, and thirst quenching Displacement Mapping on simple objects for this heat-beating splash. I also used Photoshop to add a little motion blur to the King Kola can. And yes, I created the can. Enjoy!

"Vice Versa"
by Henrik Bengtsson

"Vice Versa", was made totally with Lightwave 3D. I modelled the glass the "trad" way and used bones to deform it into the running shape (a total of 5 bones. The ripples were modelled and not displaced in order to save some polys since i was going to use refraction and reflections in the pic. The water surface has a colour map on it to give the bluish tint over the ripples. Hope you enjoy watching the picture as much as i did making it. This pic was modelled, designed, textured and rendered in about 8 hours. Rendering time was 6.30 hours).
