Bo Vine cuts a .431 light to an early lead over John Force's .436 in the qualifying round at the Render Nationals in the Super Gas class. Force's experimental "Slug Bug" small block Chevy Super Gas turned in a 9.89 at 143.44 mph and was not able to beat Bo with an E.T. of 9.91 at 125.71. "That's right, BO knows drag racing, she's udderly powerful and a real moover!" team owner Tim Jennison was heard to say. Force is alleged to have made comments regarding an odd smell emanating from the Dragcow hinting at fuel irregularities. Team owner Jennison just replied "That stinks! We're not trying to put any bull #@* off on anyone, we were ready and we released the Cow, the results speak for themselves!" Bo just chewed her cud and had no comment while she cooled her heels. One reporter hinted that there was one moment when a powerful methane presence nearly knocked him over. He later attributed it to chili dogs and beer.
