Artist's Comments
The hard part of making a still image of an explosion is that explosions are hardly still. They are living, breathing creatures and the real drama comes from seeing their short life span in its entirety.

This explosion was brought to life with a combination of Hypervoxels 1.0, a little Steamer, and a whole bunch of one point polys.

This still comes from an animation that will appear in this year's Tokyo Lightwave Expo. Philip Gordon modeled the beautiful objects and I had the pleasure of texturing, lighting and animating this scene.
