"The Axeman Cometh"

I`ve recently been helping out on the LW newsgroup project, 
a CGI short called Myers Bridge

and was in the process of creating a humanish/creature character 
for the films ending. Although the script only called for a brief 
appearance, and hidden in half-shadow at that, I began to add more 
and more detail to this deranged-looking individual, now named as 
Erasmus by a friend . The script has no mention of an axe or weapons 
of any kind, but I had an image in my head of him with holding a 
menacing axe, but without any outward aggression. And as this months 
subject matter had a hint of Halloween, I thought this picture would 
suit the the occasion. The final image is just what I was looking for, 
an obviously dangerous lunatic, with an obviously dangerous axe, yet a 
calm, almost serene expression on his face as he almost lovingly hugs 
his favourite toy. This man enjoys his work :)

Rendered with LW 5.0 using Metanurbs, textures created in Photoshop. 
The axe head was also touched up (given a polish) with Photoshop.
